The Valentine's Day holiday started with the delivery of beautiful flowers from Todd the day before. I'm the kind of gal who loves flowers :). My favorites are lilies and roses and he remembered both!
Throughout the week the kids and I made a big mess of crafty valentines. They each had them due on a different day which was nice because it forced me to not procrastinate all three children's projects on the same day! I had the kids scroll down my Valentines folder on Pinterest and see if they got any inspiration.
Ashton picked the "You're One in a Minion" Twinkies.

Brielle picked the "Hi, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!" And she cut everything out on her own.
And Lainey picked the "You're a gem!" Valentines.
Then there was the Valentine Box. I was bummed Ashton's class didn't do them because they're so fun! I live for this stuff! Instead, they made bags in class to put Valentines in.
Brielle didn't need Pinterest for her Valentine box. I had pinned lots of fun ideas but she already knew what she wanted to do. She wanted a basketball hoop. I bucked it all week because I didn't want to have to buy anything to decorate the box with when construction paper and markers could make a an array of cute boxes. When she realized I wasn't going to budge on buying any "bling" for it, she scavenged the house and found that Ashton's hoop on the back of his bedroom door easily lets you slide the net off/on, and she found we had an orange flexible pencil (really long too) in the art box that made a great rim, and we happened to have white presentation board lying around. I googled basketball boxes and got a few ideas of how to design it, but she really had it in her mind how it was supposed to look and wasn't into any of my ideas! This was all Brielle! Heaven forbid her name be on the backboard like I suggested- it HAD to look like a score board and be on a wall behind the hoop like scoreboards are! :) I was impressed that she had so much vision. I thought it turned out to be a really cute idea. Even if it was a bit tall...
I helped out at Lainey's preschool Valentines Day party. I was in charge of coming up with a couple of crafts for the class. Ashton and Brielle's class didn't ask for parent help.

Paddle Balloon relays.
Cousin Camden and the yummies!
Playing Duck Duck Goose... Which Lainey kept beating the boys around the circle on! So much that they all started tagging her every round feeling challenged to finally beat her! She's quick!
Buddies!
This is the airplane craft I did with the class.
And this is the love boat craft we did.
Todd and I each got massages at Massage Envy, and afterwards, headed to Tucanos for our dinner reservation.
Then we did a little shopping. Had to stop at our fav- the Nike outlet.
We wanted to come home and watch a movie rather than fight crowds and lame shows in town. So for his gifts I had made him these!
This is what the kids got from us to snack on while we were gone.
They had pizza with their babysitters too.
