The kids did the Emmett's Most Excellent Kids Triathlon again. They rocked it! Grandma and Grandpa, our resident Tri pros (Grandpa is an ironman) came to cheer them on and help us set them up/take pictures. The way the course is and with all the age groups racing a the same time only minimally staggered, it is impossible to root your kid on and see them from start to finish if you have THREE of them in three different age groups. So their help was very much appreciated.
Brielle and Lainey both placed- 1st in their age group. Ashton didn't place and I feel bad because he probably worked harder than the girls, but there are far more boys that raced than girls and many of them had road bikes. There is no competing with a road bike. We're just not that into it to pay the expense of buying our kids road bikes. But he was a good sport knowing that.
