So here I am, a member forever and finally posting a blog!!! I deleted my myspace, this is more up my ally. Today the family relaxed over conference sessoins and ate whatever we wanted, waffles with strawberries and whipping cream, banana bread, tater tot casserole, a family favorite.
Todd got super ambitious and decided to clean out the pantry this evening. It used to serve as our food storage until we organized the garage with new shelves and more supply of food. So our once overloaded pantry has been exposed to hide lots of outdated food, things to be moved to the garage, and some tasty treats we forgot about. As well as a few random items- bungie chords, my brother's debut cd, my sister's diploma, you know... stuff. :) But it's very refreshing to walk in and see everything in it now!
I'm 15 weeks pregnant for anyone who possibly hasn't heard. I think most everyone has. I thought I was going to get lucky and find out what I'm having at 17 weeks like I got to with my last two, but the Dr. office is cracking down on impatient mothers. Now I have to wait 'till 20 weeks like everyone else.
I had a lovely break from morning sickness and exhaustion for a month or so until Todd left on his annual Guys Golf Gettaway trip with his brothers and had business trip the day after he got back. Being alone with the kids caught up to me and I've hit a brick wall of exhaustion and lots of aches and pains. But I'm confident this weekend and a couple more days and having Todd home will help tons. The kids and I had plenty of fun, but by the end, my body just got irritated with the extra energy exerted.
I never realized just how much energy dad's can drain out of their kids! And the kids from their dads! Todd usually comes home from work and wrestles the kids into an hour of giggles on the living room floor while I make dinner. Then there's swing pushing time and reading time before bed. Dad's the resident cool guy for sure. Mom's good for coloring, talking, cuddling, and taxi to fun places like the park, but they were starving for F-U-N by the time Todd came home! And me for some sleep!
Brielle started this year's semester of pre-school this past week. Her teacher took the first month of the school year off for maternity leave with a cute brand new baby girl. She's a very ambitious friend of mine to be teaching pre-school with a little new born. But she's one that fits the bill of the challenge. She's amazing with the kids. Brielle is thrilled to be back- she attended that school last year as a 3 year old.
