Lainey's Birthday

Sweet baby girl.  She turned one today.  I was too busy all day to mourn her not being a  ___ month old anymore.  But she's fast asleep and Todd is out "night running" (head lamp, reflective shirt, and a flashlight in each hand) and I just want to snatch her out of her crib and snuggle my almost-toddler.

We threw her a lady bug party and invited family.  After serving a potato bar for dinner, watched her open presents and she blew out her candle.  We had her eat her own piece and it was hilarious.  She really got into it and at one point did a victory dance on the counter- all smothered in frosting and her cake all squashed to smithereens.  I love that tradition.

She stands for minutes at a time but still shows no interest in walking.  She teases big time.  She LOVES Pat-a-Cake.  She has an infectious giggle and a trademark mischievous smile.  Lainey has been such a pleasure and a blessing in our family.
