Chase's flight wasn't supposed to arrive until 10:58 at night. We kept the kids happy and busy by bringing along a welcome home poster for them to color in and doodle on at the airport. They were all SOOOOO excited about the whole event all day and all evening.
Ashton was a baby when Chase left so he didn't remember him, per say. He's prayed for Chase every night for two years. And he's seen his picture. But he talked about him as though he were someone he was very familiar with. When Chase came into view down the coridors and the crowd began to exclaim that he was there, Ashton said queitly to Todd, "Dad, that's not Chase!" But he warmed up quick.
Lainey was a little nervous meeting him. I really wonder what kids think (especially Ashton, being older and more aware) about meeting a parent's sybling for the first time. Because... Chase and Todd DEFINITELY look like brothers. All of the 5 brothers look a lot alike. A kid's gotta notice the resemblance. They get mistaken for each other all the time!
The kids working on their banner.
Ashton wanted me to color for him, but he got to pick the colors.
I couldn't even make suggestions!
Lainey on the hunt for unattended markers...
Waiting with their banner.
There he is!!!
Big long hug from Dad.
Brielle was very concerned that Chase
NEEDED to meet Lainey.
Travis squeezing the life out of Chase!
Corey, holding back his emotions.
One proud Mom!
And it was about this point that we jetted outta there!

How fun that Chase is home. 2 years ha flown by! If you look closely at your pictures, Ashton could be right about it not being Chase. Look at the picture you wrote "There he is!" and in the picture it says "WRONG" Even your picture is proof that it's not Chase. haha I have a crazy sense of humor today. Sorry glad you guys got to see him!
Hooray for Lainey making it that long! :) Looks like Chase got a great welcome. Us ward family members are proud of him, too!
Wow! How great for everyone and that the kids were such a part of it. You look great Sarah!
