This year, for Valentine's Day, I let the kids pick a craft from JoAnne's dollar bins.
They had fun playing with them. This is what they chose:
Lainey playing "peek-a-boo".
Brielle and I love to make our own Valentine's. They were supposed to look like this:
But making that ONE took too much time hand cutting everything so the other 26 ended up looking like this:
I made the kids their heart-shaped pancakes. They LOVE them!
Brielle's gifts to Todd and I.
Ashton made a bunch of cards for us all too.
That evening, Todd and I got a babysitter and headed to Boise for our reservation at Barbacoa's, a very nice, very yummy restaurant down town. They had a special Valentine's evening with our favorite filet minion and a chocolate souflet to die for. The whole restaurant was covered in rose petals and Valentine's decor. It was really pretty. *Side note*- holy smokes the women's bathroom there was entirely made of pink granite walls & floors. It had pink stalls, crystal chandeliers, fake crystal sinks with giant fake pink diamonds in them, and fake gold plated everything. Whoa. That was a trip.
Anyway, we had such a wonderful evening together, all dressed up. It was very relaxing just to be together alone, without a check list to do in Boise. Just enjoy one another's company. And I do SO enjoy spending time with my Valentine. I love him very very much! I'm so grateful to call him mine :-)
The waiter took our picture with Todd's phone- not too clear but oh well.
