Race Day

Saturday was Race Day! 

The kids ran the 1 mile Fun Run that St. Peter's Catholic School puts on every year at Kiwanas Park.  Brielle took 3rd in her age group and Ashton took 4th in his age group.  I wasn't paying attention, but I think Lainey must have been the only girl in the 0-4 age group because she took first place for girls that age and she didn't run a single step!  I ran beside/behind the kids with Lainey in a stroller.  My CrossFit coach/ family friend, Dean brought his son, James to run the race.  (James took 3rd place in his age group!)  Ashton and James are good buddies from living next door to each other in our last house.  Dean helped pace them both, which was nice, and his wife, Jennifer took some pictures of them during the race.  It's a great race for little kids because everyone who participates gets a metal and a prize regardless of how they placed.  Brielle got a basketball, Ashton got bubbles, and Lainey got a Frisbee.

 After the race the Ontario Fire Department took the kids' heart rate, showed them around their truck, and let them honk the truck's horn.

Meanwhile, in Boise, Todd ran the Great Idaho Potato Half Marathon.  He ran it with his dad and step mom, Rex and Cindy.

All three of them hit a PR in this race!  Cindy actually took 3rd in her age group too!  Todd averaged 8-minute miles, which was his goal. He was pretty excited about it!
