Rachele's Wedding

We had the happy occasion of attending my sister, Rachel's wedding this summer.  She and John were married August 7th in Lewiston, ID.  I got to be a bridesmaid!  My very first time being a bridesmaid!  I almost was in February at my good friend, Sara's wedding in Spokane, but they ended up doing a more informal wedding without a line.  I think I was a lot more help at Sara's wedding, however, because this time I had my kiddos with me and they took a lot of my time and attention.

To start the wedding weekend, upon rolling into town, the guys met at John's dad's house for a spaghetti feast and a movie in his home theater.  The girls met at Rachele's friend's house for a bachelorette party.  The next morning we attended a shower that Rachele's maid of honor threw for her at Rachele's Grandmother-law's house.  She had a beautiful yard!  Here are a few pics. of the that:

In the afternoon, the whole wedding party went to the Snake River to play on the beach while some went tubing on the river with John's dad and his boat.

We ended that night with a casual wedding rehearsal at the ceremony site along the river and a very delicious rehearsal dinner.

The next day was her wedding day.  We decorated the reception hall most of the morning.  We also frosted cupcakes and set up a candy bar.  Rachele's favorite color is blue and John's favorite color is orange.  So they made that combination their wedding colors and it looked really cool.  The candy bar was all blue and orange candy.  I have to laugh because they are NOT BSU fans, John being raised further north near other schools.  But it was a very BSU fan-like wedding!  We felt right at home!  here we are posing while decorating the reception hall (these 3 pictures were taken by John's mom- thank you Susan!):

Before the ceremony drew close, Rachele did her official wedding pictures- just so make-up and hair still looked nice.  It was about 100 degrees out!

Rachele with her photographer.  I liked the back of her dress.

Todd was a groomsman too.

Ashton and his new buddy, Aiden. Male bonding, right?
(Video games on each of their dad's cell phones.)

No nap for Lainey made a rough day for her.  She ended up spending most of the ceremony throwing a huge fit, quite a distance away with my aunt who kindly agreed to haul her off should she become a distraction.

This is where Rachele and my dad waited until it was time for him to walk her down to the wedding at the pier.

Lainey joined them for a while.

I'm waiting for Rachele to send me pics of the wedding and I'll add them as soon as I get them.  But here they are entering the reception hall directly after the wedding.

First dance as a married couple.

Father-Daughter dance (dancing to Billy Joel's "Lullaby")

My brothers, Scott and Devan singing Extreme's "More Than Words"

Marty impressing us all how well he danced to "Cha Cha Slide".

Most of Rachele's reception was a dance- everyone had a good time.
At some point, Ashton had seen the movie, "High School Musical", well one of them.  And apparently he picked up the concept of break dancing.  Having never seen him try it before, I looked over early on, and there he was spinning above his hand on the floor and turning in circles on him back side/knee, flipping from front to bottom.  It was the cutest thing ever!  So here I am asking him to do it again, this time with Todd trying to catch it on camera.

Rachele's cake-topper, painted to match them perfectly that day.

I bet it was great being with your family. Weddings are so fun! Hope the end of the summer is going well for you. And my CrossFit workout went well...I was sore for three days, ha ha! If I would have been at Fort Leonard Wood longer it would have been fun to do those workouts on a regular basis. I need to figure out some sort of exercise here!
