Integrity Counts Award

Thursday night of this week was a very special night for Heart 'N Home.  Every year our Better Business Bureau (Snake River Region) awards 4 business (one from each division of small, medium, large, etc.) their "Integrity Counts" award for their business ethics.  Heart 'n Home won the large business division!  Our bureau spans from Jackson Hole, WY to Vale, OR and hundreds of businesses were entered.  It was a great honor to even be among them.

40 of the nominees were awarded honorary nominees and their businesses and ethics were each briefly spoken of as well for part of the evening.  One of them was the bank we carry our business account with.  Congratulations to them!  And what a nice thing to know about your bank.

The event was held at NNU's Brandt Center in Nampa.  We were fed a delicious dinner, listened to the CEO of Melaluca Inc. tell the beginnings of their business' interesting story and speak on ethics, watched 2 young men be awarded BBB Integrity Counts scholarships, had dessert, heard about the 40 honorary winners, and then watched videos of the top 4 businesses who won the Integrity Counts awards.

In our video, a newscaster from our local news was interviewing Cindy, as CEO.  She said a lot of insightful things about hospice and their company standards.  She gave a passionate statement about how in hospice, you strive for excellence in the care you give every single minute of every day.  It's the end of our patient's lives and you may not have a second chance to get it right.

The MC told of a visit he had made earlier that week to one of Heart 'n Home's offices to watch their all-staff meeting with the other offices via teleconference.  He was visibly impressed and even a little reverent about what he experienced.  He noted a picture on the wall of a tree.  The leaves of the tree had the word, "results" among them.  The branches, the word "capabilities", the trunk, "intent", and the roots, "integrity".  It was so special to hear him speak of what he observed and see their passions for what they stand for as a company be praised so graciously and in such a prestigious event.

Kris and Amber were on a trip to Reno for their big annual horse futurity event.  But here Todd and I are with Cindy and Galen holding their company awards.

The staff members who were present (and spouses).
