Emmette Triathlon

The kids asked if they "could" train for a kids triathlon this year.  Brielle even asked if she "could" train for it every single day!  While that didn't happen, they did do some occasional workouts to train for it throughout the summer and were very excited to do it last weekend.

Ashton in line waiting to run around the kiddie pool several times for the "non-swimmer" event.

Brielle in line for her turn to swim across the public pool for the 8 and under event.

There she goes!

Brielle's run was super impressive!  She is a natural, fast runner.

Ashton leaving his swim for the bike.

Grandpa Rex showing him the way.

Todd was out of town so I was very glad to have his dad and step mom there
to help me out with Lainey and the two triathletes.

Brielle had finished her race when Ashton left the pool so she watched him bike and then, having caught her breath sufficiently, she lead the way in the run and actually ran the whole run course all over again with Ashton, at will.  It was super sweet of her and it really helped push him.

Coming around the corner towards the finish (1/2 mile run).

Picking out a cow bell.

Grandma buying them snow cones!

Lainey and Grandpa.

The next morning was Grandpa Rex's Olympic distance triathlon in Emmett.  The kids and I made a banner and suprised him there to cheer him on!  It was fun!

Cute pics! Thank you so much Sarah for coming to support Rex in the triathlon. That was super sweet of you and I know it was a challenge since you were on your own for the weekend. Thank you! We love you!
