I'm excited to report that I am now certified to teach Olympic Weight Lifting! I've been practicing my clean and jerk and snatch lifts for about two years now and felt like the certification course would better my own technique as well as help me teach the girls that work out at the house. The certification course was held in Orem, UT. It was super informative, not that my coach, Dean hadn't taught most of that. But to have someone hound your form for hours on end a couple days straight really helped. My coach, Dean, stopped coaching a couple months ago too. I really thrive in an environment where I can be coached. Todd is getting his CrossFit Certification in about a week and a half and I'll welcome his criticism and pushing because that's how you improve!

I had scheduled this course long before it was to take place, but at the last minute, we found out it happened to be the exact weekend that my parents were flying my brother, Marty down for college in Rexburg. So they, Marty, and April were all going to be in SLC for a few days! This made us decide to take the whole family along instead of going by myself. While I was at my certification during the day, Todd and the kids visited with my family (including Scott and Devan because they live there).
Here's Todd with the kids at the hotel pool.
Out to ice cream with the family.
Taking a tour of the dredge my brother, Scott has been building. It's pretty impressive- he's engineered it to have the ability to float on water like other dredges, but to also be able to drive out of the water and motor around on land.
Back at Devan's house.
It was a brief weekend trip, but we loved getting to see my family for any length of time. And it was the first time we'd gotten away as a family this summer. School had actually started that week, but they had Friday off of school. It was all perfect timing. We even got to hear my brother, Scott in concert as he was part of a house concert that weekend! The kids got to do a short hike with Grandpa, but it rained most of the time we were there. I got to workout with my dad and Todd at the Usana facility Devan works at. The kids went to the park with April a few times. Our favorite part was just hanging out at Devan's house and gabbing while the kids played.

WOW! Sarah, great job! That is amazing! How perfectly too that you could meet up with family the same weekend.
