Our family visited the Boise temple this weekend to tour it during the open house. It was dark when we were done so I didn't take any pictures outside and cameras aren't allowed inside. Official pictures are taken inside which I used here (just to be clear!). All of these were from official pictures on the Internet.
It was so neat to walk through with the kids and say, "This is the room Mommy and Daddy were married in." Or, "This room is the Celestial Room and it represents Heaven where Jesus and Heavenly Father live and where we can live together as a family someday." The renovations of it were obvious, and very beautiful. The children LOVED it. They were walking around from room to room with a brochure that had pictures of the labeled rooms and they were guessing which room was which as they came to it. They did a good job of knowing what was what! I'm grateful for this experience at this age to give teach them in the very temple about temples and allow them to feel and acknowledge the holiness of them that you feel inside.
We went to dinner afterward and bumped into some friends who took our picture, since we weren't able to get a good one at the temple in the dark and freezing cold.
