4th grade is a year of exploring our home state in Idaho. The children are told from the very beginning of the school year about a packet full of Idaho facts that they will be given to study and be tested on throughout the year. They are also given the heads up about a report they will turn in at the end of the year which can be about anything in Idaho that has any history to it. Their final field trip of the year is a visit to the State Capital and the Idaho History Museum.
Brielle did her report on Shoshone Falls since we would be passing it several times throughout the year visiting Devan and could snap a picture of it. A large portion of the report is pictures. I helped her with her report and really enjoyed learning a lot of history about Southern Idaho and its development, even its earliest causes of topography and erosion. It was fun to do with Brielle- she's very creative and talented at that sort of thing.
Her program was educational, to say the least. I actually really enjoyed it, not being a native here and never having been through 4th grade here, myself.
