Todd's company was blessed to win Modern Healthcare's "Best Places to Work in Healthcare" (in the nation) award for the third time. Todd and I were the only two to head to Chicago this time to receive it. Originally Kris and Amber were going to come too, but Kris had a bad basketball accident a few days before departure where he tore his Achilles tendon and had to go in for surgery. We felt so bad for him. And for both of them that they didn't get to go.
Being just the two of us, we were not, however, very good company for anyone else. We had been tipped off to a TV series, "Arrow" that we became so hooked on a day or two before leaving that we watched constant episodes on my lap top on the plane ride there, ordered dinner to our room upon arriving and watched episodes while we ate, and watched episodes until about 1:00 in the morning. We just kept saying "Just one more!" Too much suspense.
The next day we shopped 'till we dropped on the "magnificent mile" of shops in downtown Chicago and ate at some great restaurants. That night, of course we watched more episodes. The next day we stayed in the hotel- worked out, got a massage, napped, got ready, and went to the awards banquet. And do I have to say.... watched more episodes. I also spent a fair amount of time finishing a photography assignment on my laptop to turn in while there- for my class.
