St. Patrick's Day Field Trip

Ashton's preschool took a field trip Thursday morning to our local Albertson's (on St. Patrick's Day).  It was a fun little excursion.  They gave the children samples of things from several departments- bread from the bakery, chocolate milk from the dairy section, stickers from the pharmacy, and kiwi from the fruit section.

Ashton pointing out his favorite cake.
The frog one, "because it's green for St. Patrick's Day."

Admiring the seafood after being told that some of it was still alive.

Pictures of our friends that were there with us.

Not sure what Ashton was trying to do with his mouth...

Ashton and I had a good time at the store.  We even gots some groceries while we were at it.

That day school was let out early for Parent Teacher Conferences.  Brielle was excited to go home early to change into something green (They have school uniforms) and spend most of St. Patrick's Day in the festive color.

Brielle's P.T.Conference went really well.  She's doing great in school!  They had a book fair in the library going on so we rewarded her with some books.  Ashton got one too- of course he picked out one with the word "underwear" in it.  Actually it was, "Aliens Love Underpants".  He's all boy.

At home, we had the kids decorate a small box like a cute little house and put a couple items of doll furniture in it.  They left it around the house for any leprechauns to enjoy.  Every now and then they would check on it.  When it was on the back patio, leprechauns had left little rocks in it.  One propped up a broken leg on the doll couch.  When it was in the kitchen, they found chip crumbs inside.  And when left in the pantry, pieces of MY chocolate were found in it!  Those leprechauns have nerve!  How rude to break into MY chocolate and leave it for my children!  The kids really liked it.  They hoped they'd catch one doing something inside.  But no such luck.  Maybe next year.
