The Circus

The kids won free tickets to a circus that came to town last week.  We had an extra one so we brought their cousin, Makya with us.  I figured it wouldn't be anything too spectacular coming to our little community, but I was pleasantly surprised.  They had just about every kind of act I've ever heard of in a circus.  They kids really enjoyed it.  Here they are devouring cotton candy on the bleachers.

Tiger Act

Magic Act (The lady that changes her dress faster than you can blink- a dozen or so times in the act.)

The Rope Act (Superhero ladies)

Trapeze Act.  The guy on the left had just let go of the guy on the right who spun around and grabbed his own swing.  I didn't snap it in time and my camera died before I could try again the next time they did it.  They kept doing one flip then catching each other, two flips then catching each other, up to triple flips.  It was really impressive!
There were clowns who did short comedy acts, people who did all sorts of tricks- balancing acts, a hula hoop act, fire batons, etc.

The kiddos got to ride an elephant during intermission.  Todd snapped it with his phone.  Not many people can say they've ridden an elephant so I was excited for them!

By intermission, we had seen so many things and had enough of our share of fun that we bribed the kids to leave by promising them Dairy Queen Blizzards. Our rears were numb and it had already been a long show.  The kids were excited about Blizzards and off we went.  The Circus turned out to be a nice out-of-the-norm evening for the family.
