We went to McCall this weekend to attend the wedding of our friend, Ashley. She is my sister-in-law's sister. She asked me to take some pictures of her wedding and I was more than willing to have a reason to visit McCall this weekend. The weather was not ideal- mostly rain. But it was beautiful. We went in on a cabin with Kris and Amber (Todd's brother and my sister-in-law.). At short notice, we expected to find the selection really picked over for Memorial Weekend. Which it seemed to be by the pictures of things available online. But the pictures of the cabin we rented did NOT do it justice. We were pleasantly surprised. It was spacious and full of fun things to do for both families while being stuck inside most of the time. And it was really nice incside. The kids LOVED being with their cousins all weekend.
After seeing this picture at home, I gave Lainey a haircut. I didn't cut a whole lot off, but hopefully it will help prevent it from looking this scraggly!
We played the Cash Flow game (from the book, Rich Dad Poor Dad) with Kris, Amber, and Jordan and made yummy guacamole to much on.
The day of the wedding (the 29th) was also Raegan's 4th birthday. We went to breakfast at the famous "Pancake House" that morning.
The wedding was beautiful. But it was cold. They made a fire next to where the couple would stand to keep Ashley warm and it looked really cool in that setting.
Ashley was last on my blog last year when her late husband, Ryan passed away with cancer. Loneliness is no friend to anyone and I'm very very happy for her that she found someone to love and share her life with. She and Steve are a lovely couple and have such a cute family together now!
One shot of Brielle and Kya horsing around on the stairs at the wedding.
Back at the cabin we celebrated Raegan's birthday with cake and presents.
We lucked out being told that we could check out any time we wanted on Monday since the days following weren't booked by anyone else, and the cleaning crew had taken that day (Memorial Day) off. We goofed off all day. We did a CrossFit style workout in the living room. We ate dinner at Woody's and then hit the road for home. It was really a perfectly relaxing weekend. Maybe it was the Temperpedic mattress. I slept like a rock. Maybe it was the hot tub- we haven't set ours up here yet and I miss it. I'm sure the good company this weekend contributed. But we had a blast and already want to go back.
