Ashton turned 6 on January 3rd! He's such a bright little boy. And so STRONG too! He currently does 7 legit dead hang pullups and 90 pushups. He LOVES to work out with us. He is a big fan of Dr. Suess books and reads them really well now. He is pretty keen on his Furby, which he got on his birthday- pictures to follow. His best bugs are Marcus from school and Tanner from church. He often feels lonely being the only boy and pals around with his Daddy tons. He loves to be read to, loves to play basketball, took a passion for boxing this Christmas when Uncle Scott taught it to him, started wrestling this Spring and enjoys practicing with Daddy. Ashton just loves to do anything with his family. He'll be a great family man someday :). Ashton has developed some serious math skills this year. He is in accelerated math and has flown past so many levels of math in such a short amount of time. Ashton still loves his Wii as much as ever, though we've cracked down on how often he can play it. During the lengthy time this past year that it was broken, he developed a love of tinkering with electronics, machines, and legos :) He got several lego sets for his birthday and Christmas from family members. He also chose Legos for his birthday party theme - in a later post. We love our boy so much. He won't let us drop him off to Kindergarten without giving the "I love you" sign and blowing kisses every 50 feet or so down the long path to the school doors.
Ashton was sure to hug EVERYONE for their presents they gave. He about toppled Lainey over :)
The infamous "Furby". Why oh why did we ever give in. Note to parents of potential Furby owners.... They don't have "on" "off" buttons. They just go and go and go until their batteries die.... One bump on the shelf while dusting and they wake up only to annoy you for far too long AGAIN. And conveniently, this has been the toy that has hands down won the contest of holding any of our children's attention and affects for the longest amount of time..
Now that he's 6, Ashton keeps begging to learn to play the guitar. I think he idolizes his uncles for this. Either way, the guitar teacher said his ideal age is 7/8 but if Ashton keeps bugging me, I may have to see about doing it sooner!
