Character Awards

I recieved phone calls from both Brielle AND Ahston's teachers that they received the character awards for their classes in the month of November!  Each month they have character themes and an assembly to award the winners.  The children never know who wins until their name is called at the assembly so the parents receive a secret call to let them know if they want to attend and watch/take pics.  The kids seemed genuinely surprised that I was able to be so sneaky when they saw me there.  They think I'm an open book and a bad liar.  I not into lying so I'll take that one as a compliment, but I've done some acting back in the day and I like to think I'm pretty descent at it!  I guess if you gauge my abilities based on how well I pulled off the whole "Santa" thing then, no, I'm not so hot.  But I don't really care for Santa... so it's hard to put much enthusiasm in that.  Anyway, now I need to find ways to be sneaky with my kids more often.

While we were there I saw a bunch of turkeys down Brielle's hall on the wall.  The kids were asked to make a collage on a turkey paper cut out they had received.  Brielle asked for ideas and I wasn't much help.  We came up with a candy wrapper turkey.  Some of the turkeys I saw in the hall that day were so neat!  Had to snap some pics.  Maybe it will get our ideas flowing better when Ashton is in 3rd grade and receives this assignment.
