"L. Janin Briggs Jackman 1956 ~ 2009 The world's best wife, mother, grandmother and friend left for her final great adventure March 31, 2009. Born Oct. 14, 1956 in Jerome, Idaho to Gail Lamar Briggs and Laura Pearl Hansen Briggs. Janin joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teen while attending West High School. She married Randy Argyle Jackman in the Salt Lake Temple June 24, 1975. Her greatest joys in life were summers at Lake Powell, spending time with her grandkids, traveling, books on tape and sneaking chocolate treats. She was a genuine friend to all. Her time was spent serving the Lord, both in numerous church callings and by lifting the souls of those who needed it. She was selfless and found joy in the simple things in life. Never bought what she could make or borrow, never kept what she could give away. Janin never missed an event. She was there for EVERY birthday, graduation, wedding, sporting event and party. She was the greatest fan and loudest cheerleader. She had an amazing sense of humor which kept everyone laughing at all times. She was young in heart, spirit and body. Janin is survived by her loving husband Randy A. Jackman -Lake Point, children Emily J. Finlinson (Jason)-Lehi, Aaron R. Jackman (Sarah), West Point, Claar J. Runyan (Michael) South Jordan, 7.5 grandchildren, her mother, sisters-Randa Briggs, Elise Sanders and Tracy Briggs Haynes. We were shocked to learn Tuesday, March 31st, that Janin had passed away. She was the heathiest, liveliest, funnest person, and a loving aunt of mine. The cause of her death is unknown. She was found leaning forward into a bathtub with a serious bruise on her face. She was giving her two year old grandson a bath and it is suspected that she stood up too fast, passed out, and hit her head in the fall. The two year old got out of the tub on his own and was fine, not understanding the situation.
My baby was a week old when this happened. It's torn me up debating whether or not to fly to SLC and attend the funeral. I had enough tearing during the delivery that sitting is painful and driving to SLC wouldn't work for me. Especially with the added time of stopping to nurse a baby every couple of hours. Flying was not wise, being the sick season, and the worst we've had yet. RSV is big right now. The baby's doctor advised me not to go. I didn't want a baby less than two weeks old being exposed to possible viruses on the plane recirculating the whole flight either. So I chose not to go. I just couldn't imagine not being there, but it felt like the right decision.
The funeral was today and Mom said the Stake Center was completely full and that my uncle and cousins did a beautiful job speaking. Janin had asked her son (my cousin, Aaron) 15 years ago to sing at her funeral a specific song. He sang it at the funeral confessing he wasn't expecting to sing it so soon and hadn't put out much practice on it with his guitar. But my mom said it was very sweet and touching. Janin was a well-loved individual. Mom said the lunch afterward was strange without her. She was always the life of the party, but at this one, she wasn't there.
Janin was the most supportive woman to the people in her life. She never missed my birthday, even being 3000 miles away. She sent me packages on my mission. If our family came to Grandma's to visit, she was the aunt who always came by to see us. Even if just myself came to Grandma's during college, I never had to wonder if Aunt Janin would stop by, she always did. She was so fun and full of life. She definitely left her mark in people's lives. I'm very grateful that we visited her home a couple months ago for the first time, when we were in SLC. We spent a few hours socializing before we left for the airport to fly home. I love her and will miss her greatly.

We missed you, but it was great to see your parents and a few siblings! Hope you are well. The funeral was soooo good!
I'm really sorry to read about your Aunt's passing. It sounds like a very difficult decision not to attend.
