Back to School, Summer's Over

The last day of summer was spent with play dates!  Ashton was not photographed because he was at his friends' house.

Beautiful Brielle and Handsome Ashton on their first day of school.

Brielle started her first year of middle school this year!  She is only in 5th grade, but our district puts that grade in the same building as the 6th-8th graders.  They stay pretty much to one end and don't mingle much (would concern me otherwise).  She feels like a big girl.  One of her best friends moved to our neighborhood this year so we've been taking turns carpooling the kids to school and their daughter wanted picked up from school so Brielle hitches a ride with them then.  She feels cool not having to ride the bus!

Ashton is happy to ride the bus with his buddy (same family's son) and he watches out for Lainey who now rides home with him too.  Ashton is in 2nd grade and got to be in the same class as his best buddy. 

Lainey spent some time on her first day alone without her siblings in months by playing dress up with many of my necklaces and shoes while I got ready for the day. This was her favorite combination.

The next day was Lainey's first day of KINDERGARTEN!  My baby has gone to school.  I am happy for her because she is by no means afraid of this adventure.  She is far too social and was so very excited.  But I do miss her!  She's so fun to have around.  She's even fun to take on errands and to the store.  She's just a happy soul.  And quite the ham in front of the camera... lot of pics for her first day of K-12!
