Ashton's Basketball Season

The girls had a quiet year with sports since they both started doing a gymnastics class in Nampa earlier in the year.  We were not impressed at the family demonstration their old rec. gym did.  It proved they don't hardly progress at all there.  It was just once a week and poor instruction, not a challenging enough exercise regimen to ever get anywhere.  So we joined a carpool with some friends and family and I drive to Nampa 1-2 nights a week where they have a 2.5 hour class and prepare for competitions.  We're really happy with the class.  Lainey meets Mon/Wed and Brielle is Tues/Thurs.  It keeps us busy!  But that is all they've been doing for sports.

Ashton was in the original local gymnastics boys class but when his buddy moved down the street, it was like pulling teeth to get him to leave his friend to go to class.  Then his buddy signed up too, but soon after backed out.  So Ashton stopped doing gymnastics.  I really liked the program for boys they had unlike the girl classes.  They met twice a week for 2 hours and the man that taught it was a pretty good coach.  They worked out hard!  Nothing femmy about it. 

But once Ashton ended that, he did soccer like I posted, and then did basketball.  He was pretty good at both!  Fun to watch.  Todd coached Ashton's basketball team.  It's great father son time and we find, with all of our kids, that they get more out of it when Dad coaches them.
